Describing the win of our team against Al-Khor, Lekhwiya’s head coach Michael Laudrup said; “We played a good game and our players were in control despite our falling behind twice in this match; I’m thrilled with their performance when they came back in the game, a feat that reflects their tenacity and strength of character. I’m also happy that our team celebrates the New Year in the League’s top position, which is due to positive outcomes.”
Coach Laudrup spoke in the post-game press conference, saying; “I’m satisfied with Soria’s performance in spite of the opportunities he missed, he continued to play with vigour and greatly exhausted Al-Khor’s defence.”
As to the League’s hiatus, he said; “We are putting our focus on the period that follows the hiatus, as there will be back to back matches and I hope that our players who are suffering injuries will return to the team then, since all I have now are eleven players only.”
In denying the club’s intention to hire Adebayor, Coach Laudrup said; “We have professional players in contracts with the club and I believe that the coming period will witness a lot of rumours about new contracts, which I categorically deny.”
